Joplin Arts Fest welcomes back M. Scott Phifer to the 10th Anniversary show at the Cornell Complex in downtown Joplin. His colorful pieces can be found on the Leggett & Platt Green this September 20 & 21.

“I am an artist from Springfield, MO, who creates work that is a vibrant blend of bold lines, colorful hues, and a dash of whimsy.
Inspiration is everywhere for me, but the biggest sources are other incredible artists, past and present, and families, both biological and chose, and friends who surround me.

Each piece I create is a playful journey, a mix of spontaneous strokes and thought-out details. I love the freedom that drawing offers, and I aim to capture that sense of playfulness and joy in every piece. Whether it’s a quirky character or a loving group, my goal is to evoke a sense of delight and wonder. Through my art, I seek to create a dialogue with the viewer, inviting them to explore the layers of meaning and emotion it evokes in them. My work is not just a visual experience but a journey into the essence of human connection and life.
